Commission

Composer Zeynep Toraman discovered my work through Instagram and reached out with a question: could I create the art direction and cover artwork for an album she was working on?

Featuring contemporary electroacoustic compositions exploring the intersections of text and music, the album needed a visual counterpart that could hold the same kind of quiet intensity.

Visual Approach

I worked with physical artifacts I'd been collecting: old photographs, prints acquired on trips, small souvenirs that carried texture and memory.

Using a technique I developed, I photographed these materials in arrangements that felt like they were dissolving into atmosphere. These photographs of physical tokens become raw material, then processed through generative and algorithmic steps. The personal history embedded in old vacation prints and forgotten souvenirs matched the album's relationship to text and memory.

The resulting cover captures something I think of as the harmony of silence; not emptiness, but the richness of sustained attention. Images that feel like they're fading in and out of focus, where form and texture trade places.
